The Academy for Eating disorders is fortunate to count the world’s leading experts in the field of eating disorders among its membership. Basic information and statistics on eating disorders can be found in the Questions and Answers on Eating Disorders and About Eating Disorders sections of our website. As new information becomes available we will post it to the Press Releases section of our website. If you cannot find the information you are searching for, we will do our best to direct you to the proper sources. 

"I am researching a special topic on eating disorders. Where do I find information?"

We recommend that you take advantage of our scientific journal, The International Journal of Eating Disorders, the leading peer-reviewed journal on the subject of eating disorders.  A key feature of the journal is that it publishes articles online in advance of the completed printed issue, so you can be assured that you are accessing the most current cutting-edge research on eating disorders.

We also recommend that you take advantage of the Eating Disorders Annual Review, which reviews and synthesizes the most recent developments in key areas of the eating disorders field.

"I am interested in the Academy’s opinion on a current issue. Where can I find it?"

We recommend that you take a look at our Position Statements, which focus on issues related to eating and weight disorders, sources of consumer confusion or fill a professional or public need.  If you are interested in arranging an interview with an expert spokesperson from the Academy, please refer to our Find an Expert section and we will accommodate your request.

The Academy for Eating Disorders is happy to assist in finding appropriate resources for the media.
