Eating Disorders: NEW AED Resources for Early Recognition and Medical Risk Management

The AED is pleased to introduce a new edition of a brochure developed by the AED Medical Care Standards Task Force to provide critical education for all physicians and other medical care professionals in the early detection and medical risk management of eating disorders in children, adolescents and adults.

New for 2011! The updated brochure, Eating Disorders: Critical Points for Early Recognition and Medical Risk Management in the Clinical Care of Individuals with Eating Disorders is a 10-page booklet, written in an easy-to-read, outline format, for physicians and other medical care professionals who, in many cases, are the first point of contact in the care of individuals with eating disorders.  This booklet highlights critical diagnostic and medical management information that is essential knowledge for medical care professionals who are in a position to provide early detection, medical care, and treatment referral for individuals with eating disorders and their families.

Disclaimer:  This document is about recognition and prevention of medical morbidity and mortality associated with eating disorders. It is not a comprehensive clinical guide. Every attempt was made to provide information based on the best available research and current best practices.

This document is downloadable form for easy printing and distribution.
