AED
Clinician Scholarship Program
The Academy for Eating Disorders has established a Clinician Scholarship
program to help defray annual meeting costs for clinicians and educators
who otherwise might not be able to afford conference fees. The intent of
this scholarship program is to provide the applicant with knowledge and
skills that will then be disseminated by the applicant in his/her
community.
NIMH/AED
Student/Early Career Investigator Travel Fellowship
Program
The Academy for Eating Disorders (AED) funds students and those in the
early stages of their career to attend AED's International Conference on
Eating Disorders as monies allow. AED plans to offer this program for
each ICED through 2011.
ANZAED/AED
Young Investigator Travel Scholarship
The ANZAED/AED Young Investigator Travel Scholarship is a joint
initiative between the sister organizations to encourage Antipodeans
early in their research career to present their work at the 2011
ICED.
Research Grants
The purpose of the program is to support innovative and cutting-edge research conducted by student members of AED.
AED
Student Research Grants
The AED Student Research Grants support innovative and
cutting-edge research conducted by student members of the AED. These
grants can be used to support any aspect of a student research project,
including (but not limited to) participant payments, support staff
salaries, and costs related to study assessments and/or database
management. These awards serve the dual purpose of enhancing the
training of our student members and advancing the science in our field
by funding the most innovative and promising research.
TJ's
Fund for Eating Disorder Research
TJ's Fund is named in honor of Thomas Lee Warschefsky, II. TJ
battled anorexia nervosa for eight years. TJ succumbed to anorexia
nervosa and passed away on Valentine's Day in 2007 at the age of 22.
Throughout TJ's battle with anorexia nervosa, his family discovered that
little was known about its causes or effective treatments. TJ's family
developed TJ's Fund to promote a search for a cure through
biological research related to the cause and/or treatment of eating
disorders. Biological research has made great strides in understanding
the development and treatment of other serious forms of mental illness
such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. TJ's Fund is dedicated to
making similar discoveries in the biological bases and treatment of
eating disorders and improving the lives of its sufferers.
