The Academy for Eating Disorders sponsored the 2003 Athlete Special Interest Group (SIG) One-Day Conference held Friday, September 19, 2003 at the IUPUI University Place Conference Center in Indianapolis, IN, USA. This meeting explored issues related to athletes who have developed, or are at risk for developing, eating disorders. Speakers included a keynote given by Ron Thompson, PhD (USA), and a panel discussion that featured experts in the sports arena including former collegiate and professional tennis player, Shawn Foltz-Emmons, PhD (USA), now with Park University; Jerry Diehl (USA) with the National Federation of State High Schools Association; Mary Wilfert (USA) with the NCAA; and Kathy Kelly (USA) with USA Gymnastics.
Workshops, paper presentations and posters were presented at this meeting.
