Eating and Sleep Special Interest Group
The Eating and Sleep SIG is broadly interested in facilitating collaboration among AED members on research and clinical topics related to eating disorders/obesity and sleep. Within this broad scope, the SIG has historically aimed to: 1) improve communication between researchers in the fields of eating and sleep disorders so that our disciplines can have a better understanding of the etiology and maintenance of night eating syndrome and related conditions and 2) continue to develop a clinically useful and valid set of diagnostic criteria for night eating syndrome for adoption by researchers and clinicians. These aims would serve to inform the development of effective treatment options for those who suffer from night eating syndrome and related disorders. We welcome any AED member who has a general interest in the intersection of eating and sleep behaviors.
