Here are a few of the workshops that are being offered at ICED 2017:

  • W 3.9 - Home Treatment in Greece: Working with Families and Patients with Severe AN according to the Interpersonal Component of Cognitive Interpersonal maintenance model - A group of Greek academics and clinicians will lead a discussion about a home treatment program in Greece for patients with severe or acute anorexia nervosa. There are few specialized inpatient and day care units in Greece, so home treatment is an alternative treatment plan for patients in that country.
  • W 2.6 - Cultural and National Differences in Presentation of Eating Disorders - How does the presentation of eating disorders differ across cultural influences and contexts? Panelists from Mexico, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Israel, and Italy will discuss both the differences and similarities of eating disorders in their respective countries.
  • W 2.5 - Exposure-based Treatment for Comorbid Anxiety: Terrified Patients and Nervous Clinicians - Eating disorders and anxiety-based disorders frequently occur together. This workshop will detail an Exposure-based treatment plan that clinicians can use when treating a patient with comorbid anxiety.
  • W 2.9 - Hashtag Diversity: Dialogue in the Eating Disorders Field Through Social Media Engagement - Social media is ever-present in the lives of people around the globe. While the ability to engage online has potential benefits for those in the eating disorder field, social media can also be a major challenge. This workshop will ask participants to think critically about their experiences on social media, and how to best understand and engage with discussions and debates occurring online.
