SHC Clinical Eating Disorder Team Social Worker - 35612-1A

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Psychiatry & Mental Health Services, the Student Health Center Clinical Eating Disorder Team Social Worker is responsible for social work services, onboarding, support, referral, coordination, and indicated treatment intervention services, particularly in complex cases to support the treatment process for patients meeting criterion for disordered eating and Eating Disorders. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Psychiatry & Mental Health Services, the SHC ED Team Social Worker provides indicated psychoeducation, represents, and facilitates interactions of UCI campus-based multidisciplinary healthcare professionals directly involved in Student Health Center based patient care of disordered eating and Eating Disorders. As part of a psychiatric and primary care/multi-specialty multidisciplinary team and the general administrative support staff, the SHC ED Team Clinical Social Worker will work closely with the primary care providers, registered dieticians, nursing support (RNs, LVNs, MAs), psychiatric technicians, campus LCSWs and SHC LCSWs, SHC psychiatrists, the Mental Health Administrative Specialist, as well as key identified personnel within and external to the Wellness, Health & Counseling UCI cluster to greet and provide psychoeducation about campus-based and ED-specific referred patients, make psychosocial assessments, and to assist in the linkage and coordination of referrals and other health services to meet the individual patient’s specific health care needs in a cost effective manner. When necessary, discrete therapeutic interventions will be delivered in indicated cases on a time-limited basis.
