The Johns Hopkins Eating Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is accepting applications for a 1-2-year Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship in Eating Disorders starting in January 2021. The Department of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital was rated as the #1 Psychiatry Department in 2020 by US News and World Report. This fellowship position provides opportunities to obtain clinical experience across the spectrum of eating disorder diagnoses at varying levels of care and receive excellent supervision from an experienced multidisciplinary team of clinicians.

Our clinical treatment program includes a behavioral hospital-based, integrated inpatient-partial hospitalization specialty program for adult and adolescent patients diagnosed with Eating and Feeding Disorders. Treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, therapists, nutritionists and occupational therapists dedicated to providing evidence-based quality care, with a focus on meal-based weight restoration and normalization of eating behavior. Our outpatient and consultation clinic is staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. The clinic provides initial psychiatric evaluations and continuing care. The therapeutic approach includes outpatient cognitive-behavioral and family-based treatment, meal-based interventions, and a focus on relapse prevention for patients discharged from our inpatient-partial hospitalization programs. The fellow will also receive training in pre-surgical psychiatric evaluations for patients considering bariatric surgery, as well as providing pre- and post-surgical treatment for this population and will gain exposure to working across levels of care. Responsibilities will include providing individual and family-based therapy in the outpatient clinic and co-leading group therapy on our inpatient-partial hospitalization service. One on one weekly supervision appropriate for obtaining licensure will be provided.

Didactic opportunities include attendance at the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science's weekly Grand Rounds and Departmental Research Conference, the weekly Medical Psychology Seminar Series, as well as other weekly divisional research and clinical seminars.

    Eligibility

Candidates must have a PhD in clinical or counseling psychology. Experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Treatment and/or Motivational Interviewing preferred. The successful applicant will also need to meet training and credentialing requirements necessary to practice clinically under the supervision of a Ph.D. or M.D. in the State of Maryland.
