The Center for Weight and Eating Disorders in the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is accepting applications for a postdoctoral researcher. The position will offer the opportunity to collaborate on several studies of the treatment of obesity and its psycho-social and medical consequences. Two of the clinical trials involve combining behavioral weight control with pharmacotherapy to induce greater initial reductions in appetite and body weight or to assist patients who do not respond to behavioral treatment alone. The applicant will serve as an interventionist on one of these trials and have other opportunities to provide supervised psychological services, needed to obtain licensure. This may include learning to administer psychological evaluations of patients seeking bariatric surgery and/or providing individual therapy focusing on weight and disordered eating. Time and support for candidate's own research also will be provided. Requirements include a doctorate in clinical psychology, training in cognitive behavioral therapy for obesity and/or eating disorders, excellent research and statistical skills, and strong a record of publication.

The applicant will work closely with Dr. Jena Shaw Tronieri, Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, and have the opportunity to collaborate with other Center faculty who include Drs. Kelly Allison (FAED), Tom Wadden, Robert Berkowitz, Ariana Chao, Matt Hayes, and Tanja Kral.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/Women/Individuals with disabilities/Protected Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter and CV to Jena Tronieri at jena.tronieri@pennmedicine.upenn.edu
