There is increasing awareness of the potential of somatically oriented interventions to contribute to the recovery process in treatment of eating disorders.The practice of restorative yoga is also known as the practice of resting and digesting, due to its direct effects on the parasympathetic nervous system. In this webinar, restorative yoga will be described and explored with the focus on its use for engaging clients in interoceptive and embodied awareness and its use along the stages of recovery.

About Ann Saffi Biasetti
Ann has been a practicing Psychotherapist for 25 years. She holds a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology and is licensed as a Clinical Social worker. Her doctoral work explored the role of self-compassion in eating disorder recovery. She maintains a private practice in Saratoga Springs, New York where she specializes in embodied psychotherapy and eating disorder recovery. She is also a certified yoga teacher, yoga therapist, embodiment teacher, mindfulness and self-compassion teacher/trainer and author. Her first book, Befriending Your Body: A Self-Compassionate Approach to Freeing Yourself from Disordered Eating, will be released through Shambhala publications in spring, 2018.
