Adolescents ages 12 to 18 with a diagnosis of AN and their families are invited to participate in a Family Based Treatment research study through Stanford University and UCSF's Eating Disorder Programs. By participating in this study participants receive FBT, an evidence-based treatment, free of charge and $50 upon completion of the study. All participants will receive standard Family Based Treatment (FBT) for Anorexia Nervosa. Treatment can last up to 18 sessions over the course of up to 19 months. All treatment and assessments are provided via tele-health. If participants fail to show sufficient improvement by study parameters by session 4, they will be randomized to receive either FBT + Intensive Parental Coaching (IPC) or FBT as usual. If participants make expected milestones by session 4, they will continue FBT as usual. After completing treatment and an end of treatment assessment, there is a follow up period of one year consisting of two assessments. The total time of participation is approximately one year and nine months. If interested in participating, please contact Kyra Citron at (650)723-9182 or email familytreatment@stanford.edu or Madelyn Johnson at (415)476-0622 or madelyn.johnson@ucsf.edu. Please note that this is a multi-site study conducted online, and the clinicians/researchers could be from Stanford University or UCSF depending on availability.
