I'm reaching out as we recently received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to develop and pilot a coached, CBT-based mobile app for women with anorexia nervosa (AN) to use in the post-acute treatment period that could be used in addition to any other services individuals have access to (and of course we know that access to high-quality outpatient providers is an issue for many individuals-as such, the availability of this kind of mobile app could make evidence-based treatment more readily accessible). This app is being developed based on the team's existing work on a coached, CBT-based mobile app for college women with eating disorders (see our paper published in JAMA Network Open last year here), with our content now being adapted to be more relevant for this population (i.e., women with AN being discharged from acute treatment), to focus on highly salient issues like motivation for treatment and recovery. The refinements will also be informed by Dr. Kathy Pike's work on using CBT specifically for this group (she is one of the investigators on our trial as well).

As this study focuses on individuals recently discharged from acute treatment, I wanted to see if any treatment centers would be interested in working with us on this important research.

We have already partnered with numerous centers across the country for this effort and would be excited to identify additional partners! Please reach out via email to me at fitzsimmonse@wustl.edu to discuss further details and/or set up time for a call.

    Thanks for your consideration!

    Ellen
