Research for those you know; pass it on!

There are no current studies about the weight bias of clients towards counselors in the eating disorder field. As a result, I am studying clients' weight bias when selecting counselors.  To aid in this research, please consider sending the email below to your current and past clients. Clients who have and have not had eating disorders are eligible to participate. You are welcome to take the survey as well so you will know what you are forwarding to your clients.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Amy Biang, at abiang@uncc.edu or 520-331-3796.

Hi, my name is Amy Biang. I am a doctoral student in the Counseling Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am looking for participants to take a short survey. To avoid bias we are not fully disclosing the details of the research but can share that I am conducting a research study exploring a common factor when selecting a counselor. We are looking at differences between clients with eating disorders and those without eating disorders. You do not need to have an eating disorder to participate in this study. We invite you to participate in this study if you are age 18 or older.

If you agree to participate, you are asked to complete an online questionnaire. The survey is anticipated to take no more than 15 minutes. Participation in this study is voluntary. If you are willing to participate in this survey, please click the link below. The link will connect you with an electronic informed consent and study questions immediately thereafter.  If you have questions, please contact Amy Biang at abiang@uncc.edu or 520-331-3796.
