Jenna Tregarthen is a leader at the intersection of technology, research, and clinical treatment for mental health. As co-founder and CEO of Bright Therapeutics, she spearheaded the development of Recovery Record, the world’s most widely used digital platform for eating disorder treatment. Recovery Record has been used by over 30,000 eating disorder practitioners and 1.5 million individuals in recovery, facilitating more than 150 million evidence-based homework entries. This widespread use has transformed how patients engage with their treatment plans and how care is delivered.
With a background in Clinical Psychology and a tenure teaching Healthcare Innovation at Stanford University, Jenna is deeply committed to leveraging technology to bridge the gap between academic research and clinical practice. Under her guidance, Recovery Record has become a collaborative hub, connecting clinicians and researchers to co-create, validate, and disseminate evidence-based practices at scale. Recovery Record’s many independent research collaborations with academic partners across the world have helped advance the understanding and treatment of eating disorders.
Jenna’s commitment to compassionate, inclusive, innovation is rooted in both her personal and professional experiences. Inspired by a close family member’s struggle with an eating disorder, she conceived the idea for Recovery Record while pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Recognizing the urgent need for scalable solutions to help patients fully participate in treatment, she took a leave of absence to bring her vision to life. Today, her work focuses on adaptive technologies that meet the needs of diverse cultures, genders, and diagnostic presentations such that more patients and clinicians can benefit from these tools.
In her keynote address, Jenna will share unique insights into the important role of technology in enhancing treatment accessibility, effectiveness and long-term recovery outcomes. She will also provide a glimpse into what the future may hold.
