    Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship

Eating Disorders & Integrated Primary Care Collaborative

    Eating and Behavioral Health Associates

    Fall 2024

    Adult and Adolescent Tracks Available

Our unique postdoctoral fellowship focuses on providing training in two environments: a respected, large private practice and an Internal Medicine clinic at a nationally recognized non-profit health system in thriving Columbus, Ohio.  This one-of-a-kind opportunity provides the fellow with training in providing evidence-based treatment to a variety of eating disorder presentations in individuals with diverse backgrounds.  Eating and Behavioral Health Associates (EBHA) is a group of highly trained, passionate clinicians who are invested in providing evidence-based treatment for eating disorders and co-occurring concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic health conditions. We are also committed to providing a training program that offers competency in evidence-based treatments for these mental health concerns, as well as professional development, and opportunities for research, umbrella supervision, community education and advocacy in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Below are some details about what we offer in our postdoctoral fellowship.  We are looking to fill 2 postdoctoral positions for the 2024-2025 year.

We are excited to continue our joint collaboration between Eating and Behavioral Health Associates, a premier private group practice dedicated to the evidence-based treatment of eating disorders and OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Outpatient Internal Medicine/Community Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. This postdoctoral fellowship is comprised of an Adult and/or Adolescent Rotation and an Adult Primary Care Rotation, and will provide an opportunity to build competency in eating disorder treatment in a private practice outpatient setting as well as within an integrated care model at Ohio Health's Doctors Hospital. This novel collaboration's mission is to provide care to all individuals who suffer from eating disorders and will reduce barriers of the underserved and underinsured populations to receive quality, evidence-based care for eating disorders and body image concerns.

     Adult Track

Your training will focus on competency of delivering standardized protocols for Enhanced-Cognitive Behavioral Treatment with opportunities to be additionally trained in the application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Eating Disorders and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Our adult team specializes in the treatment of adults 18-64 with a variety of eating and body image concerns, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, and other related disorders. We also treat co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and chronic health concerns with evidence-based CBT diagnostic-specific protocols. The postdoctoral fellowship provides an environment in which you learn how to effectively practice in an outpatient private practice setting and offers professional development in this area. Furthermore, we aim to develop our trainee's understanding of ethical and cultural considerations in the treatment of eating disorders and provide support for early career psychologists.

    Child & Adolescent Track

In the Child & Adolescent track, your training will focus on competency of delivering standardized protocols for Family-Based Treatment (FBT) and Enhanced-Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Adolescents with opportunities to be additionally trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for Adolescents. Our child and adolescent team specializes in the treatment of children ages 6 to 17 with a variety of eating and body image concerns, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, and other related disorders. We also treat co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD with evidence-based CBT diagnostic-specific protocols. You may also be assigned to provide therapy for young adults, as most of our C&A clinicians practice with patients up to age 25-30.

OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Outpatient Internal Medicine/Community Medicine Rotation

Ohio Health is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized healthcare system in Columbus, Ohio. The Primary Care Rotation provides additional experiences in gaining competency in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders in a primary care setting, with training and experience working within an integrated care model in an underserved community. The fellow will also provide assessment, consultation and brief treatment of general mental health concerns and eating disorders, and will be provided opportunities to educate medical students, residents and the primary care team on eating disorder assessment, referral and treatment as well as general behavioral health.  This rotation may be up to 2 days per week.
