    *Updated Fellowship Opportunity*

    Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship

    Eating and Behavioral Health Associates

Eating Disorders & Integrated Primary Care Collaborative

Eating Disorders & Women's Health Collaborative

    Fall 2024

Our postdoctoral fellowship focuses on providing training in two environments: a respected, large private practice and an Internal Medicine or Women's Health clinic at a nationally recognized non-profit health system in thriving Columbus, Ohio.  This one-of-a-kind opportunity provides the fellow with training in providing evidence-based treatment to a variety of eating disorder presentations in individuals with diverse backgrounds.  Eating and Behavioral Health Associates (EBHA) is a group of highly trained, passionate clinicians who are invested in providing evidence-based treatment for eating disorders and co-occurring concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic health conditions. We are also committed to providing a training program that offers competency in evidence-based treatments for these mental health concerns, as well as professional development, and opportunities for research, umbrella supervision, community education and advocacy in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Below are some details about what we offer in our postdoctoral fellowship.  We are looking to fill 2 postdoctoral positions for the 2024-2025 year.

We are excited to continue our joint collaboration between Eating and Behavioral Health Associates, a premier private group practice dedicated to the evidence-based treatment of eating disorders and OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Outpatient Internal Medicine/Community Medicine in Columbus, Ohio as well as our new collaboration with OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Women's Health Clinic. This novel collaboration's mission is to provide care to all individuals who suffer from eating disorders and will reduce barriers of the underserved and underinsured populations to receive quality, evidence-based care for eating disorders and body image concerns, and to develop new programs to integrate these treatments and more effectively screen for eating disorders in primary care and women's health clinics.

Eating Disorder Treatment in a Unique Private Practice Setting

Your training will focus on competency of delivering standardized protocols for Enhanced-Cognitive Behavioral Treatment with opportunities to be additionally trained in the application of Family Based Treatment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Eating Disorders and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Our team specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of eating and body image concerns, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, and other related disorders. We also treat co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and chronic health concerns with evidence-based CBT diagnostic-specific protocols. The postdoctoral fellowship provides an environment in which you learn how to effectively practice in an outpatient private practice setting and offers professional development in this area. Furthermore, we aim to develop our fellow's understanding of ethical and cultural considerations in the treatment of eating disorders and provide support for early career psychologists.  We closely collaborate and consult with local academic medical centers in addition to community providers to provide a multidisciplinary team approach for our patient population. As such, fellows are expected to collaborate with members of their patients' multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and dietitians. Our fellows will also be involved with the training of family medicine and psychiatry residents. These duties include having the residents observe or shadow their individual sessions, and meet with residents to provide psychoeducation on evidence-based treatment for eating disorders and associated mental health conditions.

OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Outpatient Internal Medicine/Community Medicine Track

Ohio Health is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized healthcare system in Columbus, Ohio. The Primary Care Track provides additional experiences in gaining competency in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders in a primary care setting, with training and experience working within an integrated care model in an underserved community. The fellow will also provide assessment, consultation and brief treatment of general mental health concerns and eating disorders, and will be provided opportunities to educate medical students, residents and the primary care team on eating disorder assessment, referral and treatment as well as general behavioral health.  The postdoctoral fellow will spend 2 days per week in the Internal Medicine clinic.

OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Women's Health Track

The Women's Health Track provides additional experiences in gaining competency in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders in a women's health setting, with training and experience working within an integrated care model in a Women's Health clinic in an underserved community. This experience is a developing program that will be the model for a larger Women's Health Center currently in the planning stages, and will afford the postdoctoral fellow to be involved in program development. The fellow will also provide assessment, consultation and brief treatment of mental health concerns related to women's health, including peri-and postnatal concerns, and will be provided opportunities to educate medical students, residents and the primary care team on eating disorder assessment, referral and treatment as well as general behavioral health.  The postdoctoral fellow will spend 2 days per week in the Women's Health clinic.

We encourage all interested applicants who have or will complete a Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program and an APA accredited internship by August 2023 to apply.  Candidates with a background in behavioral therapy and strong interest in DBT are highly encouraged to apply.
