This is a vibrant and active interdisciplinary research group. The current fellowship is for two years; while primarily research based, there are clinical opportunities on the Shifting Perspectives Study. Shifting Perspectives study is investigating whether or not adding Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) to Family Based Treatment improves outcome in adolescents with anorexia nervosa. The post-doctoral fellow will deliver treatment (FBT and CRT) to some families in the study and will be responsible for all appropriate documentation of treatment delivery. The fellow will be responsible for study related research activities, including assessment, scoring, data management, manuscript writing, and preparing funding applications. In the second year of fellowship, the focus will shift to supporting the research actives of the lab – including manuscript and grant preparation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents with an eating disorder. Research and clinical training experiences will help prepare the fellow for a future career in variety of settings. Fellows will work collaboratively with other providers (adolescent medicine, psychiatry, nutrition) in the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program (EDATP). The EDATP has an inpatient medical stabilization program, an intensive outpatient program, and a family-based outpatient treatment program. With over 1000 families seen every year, the EDATP is continually growing. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is home to the Department of Pediatrics for the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and is consistently ranked among the top children's hospitals in the country in the U.S. News and World Report's Honor Roll of the nation's Best Children's Hospitals. Please send a cover letter (detailing your interest and experience working with children and families and/or youth with eating disorders) and current CV along with the names and contact information of three references to Dr. Alix Timko (timkoc@chop.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately and continued until filled.
