Researchers at Northwestern University and University of Pittsburgh are seeking parents and their teens to test a mobile app that helps adolescents manage their eating behaviors. Please share the screening survey link/flyer with any patients or participants who may be eligible.

This research study is for teens:

    -Who are 13-17 years old
-Who overeat or struggle to control their eating and are overweight/obese
-Who are not on medications that affect weight/appetite
-Who do not have a medical condition that affects weight/appetite (diabetes)
-Who speak English and live in the US
-Who are interested in managing their overeating, out of control eating, and/or their weight
-Who have a smartphone, an email address, access to a scale, and are willing to use a mobile app with coaching
    -Who are not pregnant

    Expected Commitment:
Parents and teens will first complete an eligibility screening survey online via REDCap.

If eligible, parents and teens will be invited to complete initial virtual assessments (done over Zoom), questionnaires about the teen's eating habits, and provide the teen's height and weight.

Teens will use an app with coaching, an electronic scale, and wear a Fitbit for 16 weeks.

Parents and teens will complete virtual assessments again during and after the intervention.

    Compensation:
Compensation will be provided for each virtual assessment visit. Compensation will also be provided for completion of research study activities between virtual visits.
