    Hello,
I am a 4th-year doctoral student conducting a qualitative study on the treatment of children and adolescents diagnosed with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Participants will be interviewed and questions will be geared toward the resistance often met in the treatment of ARFID and ways to enhance motivation in individuals to make behavioral change.
If you meet the criteria for the study and want to share your experiences as a treatment provider in the treatment of ARFID, your involvement may contribute to treatment approaches. Your valuable insights are needed and appreciated. If interested, please review the following:
Purpose: To qualitatively explore the experiences of professionals who treat Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) in children and adolescents and how they navigate resistance and enhance motivation in making behavioral changes to food/eating.
    Eligibility: Prospective participants must:
    1. Have a license as a psychologist, psychiatrist, medical doctor, nurse practitioner, dietitian, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, social worker; or, be a masters level clinician as a professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, social worker; or be actively working on obtaining a license in one of these disciplines
    2. The participant must have treated at least 1 client under the age of 18 diagnosed with ARFID and while in a role indicated in Criteria 1, either currently or in the past
Involvement: The participant will be asked a series of questions in a semi-structured format regarding their experiences treating children and/or adolescents with ARFID. The speculated time of the qualitative, semi-structured interview is 60 minutes and will take place via the HIPPA-compliant virtual platform Zoom or Webex
Compensation: Participants will be thanked for their time and involvement with a $25.00 gift card once the interview is fully completed.
