Hello! My name is Arielle Smith and I am a PhD student at Northwestern University. I am especially looking for clinicians, individuals with lived ED experience, and caregivers to join my survey-based study. Please share the following information with your networks:
Passionate about improving care for eating disorders?
Do you belong to any of these groups?
-
A researcher focused on eating disorders (doctoral student-level or higher)
-
A clinician who treats people with eating disorders
-
A carer or supporter of someone with an eating disorder
-
A person with lived experience of an eating disorder
If so, you are invited to participate in an online research study exploring how brief, focused supports may be used to fill gaps in eating disorders care.
To participate, you must also be 13 years of age or older, speak English, and live in the United States.
The study has two phases-you get to choose which phase you want to be a part of:
-
Participants in Phase 1 will complete two longer surveys and review a document. We expect this will take 2 hours and 15 minutes, broken into three sittings. You will receive a $20 gift card for the first survey and another $20 gift card for the second survey (a total of $40). You will also be listed as a co-author in the future publication of this work.
-
Participants in Phase 2 will complete three shorter surveys. We expect this will take 45 minutes, broken into three sittings. You will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card (half of the participants will win).
Interested? Here are the next steps (these should take just 5 minutes):
-
Click the screening survey link to learn more about each phase and choose which you are interested in.
-
Answer questions to see if you are eligible for the study.
-
If you are eligible, you will be asked to answer a few additional questions about your demographics/background.
After you complete the screening survey, the study team will get back to you in 1-2 weeks to let you know if you have been selected to participate (we want to make sure we have a diverse group of participants in each phase).
This study is being conducted under Principal Investigator Dr. Jessica Schleider at Northwestern University. Questions can be directed to Study Coordinator, Arielle Smith (arielle.smith@northwestern.edu).
