The University of Illinois at Chicago and the Chicago Center for Evidence Based Research are currently recruiting families with a young person aged 11-18 with a restrictive eating disorder to participate in a Multi-Family Therapy Intervention (Protocol #2020-0217).
This research intervention involves 7 sessions of Multi-Family Therapy as well as the completion of questionnaires and assessments. Multi-Family Therapy is run in a group format, and families will complete a range of activities that engage the whole family and reflect on the role of the eating disorder within the family. Families will also receive in-vivo meal support. This research intervention is available for families in all stages of eating disorder treatment. This program is designed for families who are just beginning in treatment, for families whose child may be "stuck" in treatment, or may be transitioning from higher levels of care. The goal of this intervention is to provide families with the opportunity to learn and practice skills, as well as engage in a supportive, focused environment with other families. We are not excluding families who are currently in treatment, so any of your patients currently receiving treatment for a restrictive eating disorder are welcome to participate.
Currently, we are running our program through Zoom. There is no cost for families to participate and insurance is not needed. Adolescents are eligible for compensation up to $250.  Next group begins JUNE 20, 2023.

Please have interested families contact our research coordinator Natalia at Natalia.zielinski@ccebt.com or 312-600-3936.
