Research Gaps in Eating Disorders: Eating Disorders Research in China

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses affecting individuals of all ages and genders. Despite the increasing prevalence of eating disorders in China and worldwide, there are still many gaps in our understanding of the disorders. This presentation aims to provide an overview of eating disorder research in China and highlight the international gaps in the field. The pathophysiology of eating disorders, especially genetics, neurobiology, psychosocial factors, etc. will be discussed in detail. Additionally, the presentation will cover important topics such as epidemiology, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of eating disorders, with a focus on the most recent research findings in China. By discussing these topics, this presentation hopes to shed light on the current state of eating disorder research in China and inspire future research efforts to address the gaps and challenges in this field.
