Q: Are there scholarships available?
A: The Call for Grants & Scholarships is open through February 6. Please review our newly revised Scholarship offerings, meant to target more scholarships to individuals who are under-represented within the AED based on recent membership data, and/or wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend ICED.

Q: Will there be a hybrid or virtual option to ICED 2023?
A: The Academy for Eating Disorders has made the difficult decision to offer an in-person only ICED 2023 experience. We recognize those in our community, all over the world, who are not able to attend ICED in-person for many reasons. As we have shared previously in communications about our Strategic Plan, the COVID pandemic has exacted a significant financial impact on the AED, one which we are working hard to recover from. The current state of the economy continues to make this a challenge, for us and many other non-profits the world over. Within that reality, sadly, is a very tight budget from which we are working to offer the best ICED experience possible. To that end, we have revised our Scholarship offerings to target more scholarships to individuals who are under-represented within the AED based on recent membership data, and/or wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend the ICED. We also recognize that an annual conference with a virtual or recorded component is the only way to truly meet the needs of all interested parties, and you have our word that we will do our best to make that a reality at future ICEDs.

Q: Will masks be required?
A: AED will be following the District of Columbia COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time of ICED 2023. Current guidelines will be shared with attendees prior to the event and can be accessed here.
