PCAC Networking Lunch

PCAC Global Networking Event

Friday, March 15, 12:30 am – 2:00 pm

The goal of the AED Partnership, Chapters and Affiliate Committee (PCAC) is to formally establish global collaborations with organizations, whose mission and goals parallel those of the AED (i.e., promoting the treatment, research and prevention of eating disorders).

Thus, PCAC is working to achieve AED goals in the international community and helping facilitate AED services to the eating disorder professionals worldwide. PCAC activities include the dissemination of membership and AED brochures at other conferences and to other organizations, translation of membership materials into languages that are represented within AED membership as well as PCAC projects which are aimed to globally improve the quality of eating disorder services. During the PCAC Global Networking Event the PCAC and its current activities will be shortly presented.

This years’ PCAC Global Networking Event is dedicated to the theme “Implementing evidence-based/evidence-informed treatment”. To stimulate the discussion, Karin Waldherr (Austria) will briefly introduce into Implementation Research, and Melanie Smith & Gayle Brooks (USA) will present a case example from the large Renfrew Center’s network on how an implementation framework can guide the implementation of evidence-informed practices in ED settings. We invite all ICED participants to actively participate in our discussion.
