    Title of Study: Barriers and Facilitators of Psychiatrist Adherence to Clinical Practice Guidelines in Eating Disorder Treatment

    You are being invited to take part in a research study. Whether you take part is up to you.

    The purpose of this research is to explore the extent of psychiatrist adherence to the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) clinical practice guideline for eating disorder treatment. Further, this study aims to describe the barriers and facilitators of adherence to the APA clinical practice guideline for eating disorder treatment, exploring the variations by guideline component, psychiatrist demographics, and practice characteristics.

    You will be asked to participate in an interview with the principal investigator. Interviews will take place via an online video and audio platform, such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. You will be asked an estimated 11 questions and additional demographic questions about the study's purpose. 

    Your participation in this study is estimated to take 45 minutes to complete an interview with the principal investigator.  

    You will be audio or video recorded during this study. Discuss this with the researcher or a research team member. If you are recorded, the recording will be kept in a locked, safe place. Audio and/or video recording will be completed using the included recording options in Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Per UCF policy, the recording will be erased or destroyed at least five years after study completion.

    During your participation in this study, identifiable private information will be collected. Your name, age, email address, voice recording, and video recording (face or other identifiable tributes) will be collected. This information will be accessed by principal investigator Pamela Dow, and faculty advisor, Barbara Andraka-Christou. This information will be stored on a password protected external hard-drive and backed up to a secure, password protected OneDrive. The information will be stored for at least five years after study closure, per UCF policy.  

    Your information or samples that are collected as part of this research will not be used or distributed for future research studies, even if all of your identifiers are removed.

    You must be 18 years of age or older to take part in this research study. You must be a licensed, practicing psychiatrist in the U.S. You must read and speak English. You must have treated at least one patient for an eating disorder in the last month.
