Hello,
My name is Neha Goel and I am a VCU Counseling Psychology doctoral student currently recruiting individuals for my dissertation project. My study proposes to develop and validate a measure to assess disordered eating in South Asian women living in the United States. The goal of this study is to improve eating disorder detection and treatment for this community, and help health care providers understand what we can be doing to better serve these women.
Participation involves:
· Completing online health questionnaires assessing eating habits, body image, emotional well-being, cultural values, and demographics.
All information participants provide will be strictly confidential.
Participants must be:
· 18 – 30 years old
· Women
· South Asian (i.e., descend from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and/or Maldives)
· Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 years
There is no cost to participate in the study. Participants will be paid Amazon gift cards and, if eligible for SONA credits, given research credits for their time.
