My name is Shikha Advani and I am currently a doctoral student at the GSSW through the university of Denver. I received my master’s in nutrition from Boston University and my Masters in Social Work from Simmons University. My research interests include the intersection of eating disorders, weight stigma, and decolonization. As, I earn my PhD I also work clinically as an eating disorder therapist for folks with complex trauma and who carry marginalized identities. I hope to utilize my experience as a clinician to bring lived experience into research and create space for greater use of anti-oppression and decolonization within the ED field.
