About

The Trauma and Eating Disorders SIG offers a forum for communication for AED members doing work in the fields of trauma and eating disorders, disseminates in a timely manner research results and clinical experiences related to trauma and eating disorders and provides opportunities for research collaboration and clinical consultation among AED members.

Our Goals

  • Educate clinicians, researchers, & the public on the interplay between trauma, PTSD, and eating disorders
  • Promote utilization of evidence-based PTSD treatments
  • Assess barriers in the delivery of evidence-based PTSD treatments
  • Identify new findings related to treating comorbid PTSD and eating disorders
  • Provide a forum to discuss topics related to trauma and PTSD
  • Promote resource sharing among international professionals
  • Increase trauma/PTSD-related content at the ICED conference 
  • Foster research collaboration among members
